Illegal Bruce Jenner Dress Photos Under Investigation

Illegal Dress

Bruce Jenner's sitdown with Diane Sawyer is days away, but that hasn't stopped paparazzi from trying to get a shot of the Olympic champion's new look by whatever means necessary.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Jenner's Malibu home this week because photographers were usually unlawful methods to shoot pictures of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star walking around in a blue striped dress. In the snapshots — purchased by the New York Daily News and aired on CNN — Bruce can be seen stretching and smoking a cigarette in the frock outside of his mansion.

The photographers were camped out on a nearby hillside using telephoto lenses to snap pictures of Bruce in his private space, which is illegal. Apparently, the 65-year-old has confronted the paps before, saying he would call the cops if they came back, so he did just that on Tuesday.

The sheriff's department reportedly went on the hunt for the photogs. Jenner could likely get a restraining order against those paparazzi or sue if he wants.

Illegal Dress

CNN, which did not have the right to broadcast the dress photograph, has received flak for airing the controversial shot in what seems a thinly veiled effort to scoop rival ABC. Don Lemon used it to lead a panel discussion for the segment "Caught on Camera: Bruce Jenner's New Look?" to discuss what Jenner's revelation means for the transgender community.

Earlier this week, Jenner was photographed driving through the Santa Monica Mountains on a motorcycle, and knowing he was going to be photographed, chose to wear jeans and a sweatshirt for the outing. The reality star kept his face covered in a dark motorcycle helmet.

Jenner's interview with Diane Sawyer is set to air on Friday, in which he is expected to talk about his decision to transition into a woman for the first time.

[Editor's note: Yahoo will continue to use "he" until we hear from Bruce and/or are told he is readyto be called by a different name or pronoun.]
"My whole life has been getting me ready for this," Jenner said in one promo teased by ABC. In another, he talks about his family. "Those are the only ones I'm concerned with," Jenner said. "I can't let myself hurt them."
Bruce Jenner: The Interview airs Friday at 9 p.m. on ABC.
